LIST OF EMPANELLED INDEPENDENT ENGINEERS for PURA
Ministry of Rural Development had conducted an Empanelment process for short listing the technically eligible firms. Accordingly, Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India has finalised a panel of pre-qualified Independent Engineers to assist MoRD with the implementation of PURA Scheme. MoRD has issued a notification dated May 3, 2012 for empanelled list of Independent Enginners. Please see attachment for the official notification .

Friends from the Media:
A warm welcome to all of you on this interaction of the newly designed Provision of Urban Amenities in Rural Areas (PURA) scheme of Government of India. I believe PURA heralds a paradigm shift in rural infrastructure development. This scheme represents twinning of rural infrastructure development with economic re-generation activities. This is the first ever attempt at delivering infrastructure and amenities through Private Public Partnership in the rural areas. Involvement of the private sector, for the first time, in creation and management of amenities through a partnership with Gram Panchayats is an effort to provide a completely different framework for the implementation of rural infrastructure development schemes and harness private sector efficiencies in the management of assets and delivery of services.

Pre Bid Presentation 16th Septmber 2010 and Query Responses
A Pre-Bid Conference was organized for short listed bidders on September 16th 2010. A presentation was made by CRISIL, explaining the RFP and bidding process. Responses to all the queries from the bidders were released by PURA team.
